SUMMARY:Stomp Out Abuse
DESCRIPTION:Join Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption in Stomping Out Abuse. \nEvery day\, CMFCAA works extremely hard to provide critical services and resources to vulnerable foster\, adoptive\, and kinship children\, youth\, and families. This year\, there are over 1\,300 reported incidents of abuse and neglect in Boone County alone. We want to try to do our part to stop the abuse. For those neglected children we will be hosting a new event in the Columbia area. We want to invite you to join us for the inaugural Stomp Out Abuse fundraiser on April 27\, 2023\, at Cooper’s Ridge across the Missouri River in Boonville\, MO. We will have silent auction items\, a whiskey pull\, a wine pull\, and some good old-fashioned country music to dance to. \nIn 2022\, we expanded the number of counties we serve from 13 to 24. We more than doubled our staff and added two new programs: Extreme Family Finding and Adoption Advocacy. We have big ideas for 2023\, including expanding our Odyssey respite program\, recruiting and training more foster and adoptive parents through our Family Development Program\, and providing more assistance to young adults through our Community Connections Youth Project. \nCMFCAA is looking forward to a fun and successful Stomp Out Abuse event and asks for your generous support by taking part in this amazing event. With your help\, CMFCAA can continue to pursue our mission and vision throughout 2023. \nTickets are $25 a piece.

DESCRIPTION:Self-care is important\, but when self-care is not enough it is always good to have a support team around you. We are hosting an in-person support group for foster\, kinship\, adoptive\, and guardianship parents tonight at our Osage Beach office. The support group starts at 6 p.m. and we will be talking about the challenges that come with children in care and that have been adopted. We will be providing snacks. If you struggle with your children’s behavior and want to understand how you can help them better\, please stop in and learn from others that are walking the same path as you.
