Camp David is a specialized camp for children of prisoners and at-risk youth. The staff at Camp David will pick up our foster/adoptive children from theMcDonald’s on Eastland in Jefferson City and then return them to the same place when camp is over. There is no fee. However, you must show documentation that a parent is incarcerated to be able to participate at the free rate. It is a great time with many things to do. Horseback riding, archery, games, swimming, campfires, etc. They have a huge staff including an on site nurse.
Camp Sagrada is another camp for children of prisoners or at risk youth. They have pick-up and drop-off locations as well here in Jefferson City, Missouri. This camp is free of charge to the children we serve at CMFCAA. However, you must show documentation that a parent is incarcerated to be able to participate at the free rate.
Camp Barnabas provides full scholarships for foster/adoptive kiddos and their siblings. You must pay the $50 registration fee, then Camp Barnabas will cover the rest. This camp caters to the needs of the physically and developmentally challenged child. Registration starts in the fall and most sessions will fill up fast. When you get to the scholarship portion request in the registration paperwork you will need to state that the reason for a full scholarship request is because the child is a ward of the state. Also the media release form will need to be filled out so that no pictures are published of the child. If your child is adopted out of the foster care system, it just needs to be explained on the scholarship form. Transportation is not provided. Purdy, Missouri is located in SW Missouri about 3.5 hours away from Jefferson City. If your child has Health Care, there is a possibility that it will cover the transportation costs. Ages are 7-17
