Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is a transformative approach that provides a comprehensive framework for caregivers and professionals working with children who have experienced trauma. Rooted in attachment theory, TBRI recognizes the profound impact of early experiences on a child’s development and behavior. It employs three core principles: Empowering, Connecting, and Correcting. Connecting Principles aim to cultivate healthy attachment by nurturing relationships and promoting trust. The Empowering Principles focus on meeting the child’s physical needs to create a foundation of safety and stability. Lastly, the Correcting Principles are designed to address and modify fear-based behaviors, helping children develop better coping mechanisms and social skills. TBRI is a compassionate and effective strategy that emphasizes understanding and healing, offering hope and support to vulnerable children and their caregivers.
